America United by it's Fears

Today I witnessed Americans of all age and race united in their support of our wonderful Country. As I drove around my new home in Naperville, a suburb of Chicago, IL it brought a heart warming feeling finding our Country colors of Red, White and Blue flying high every where I looked. On apartments windows and banisters in my complex, numerous vehicles in my neighborhood, and proud American business's in my community.

When I got home I telephoned my best friend Maureen, who lives Pittsburgh, PA, the town where I grew up and lived until I moved to the Chicago area this pass June. She affirmed what I already new was to be true. The people of Pittsburgh where united also. I know this to be true all over Country. Maureen stated to me how different it was today to drive around the city. The other drivers were giving her right-a-way everywhere she turned. There was no road rage on the Streets. As I thought about her words I realized thats what was different on our roads today also.

It is a shame that the tragedy of 9/11/2001 is what caused us to unite as a Nation. We live in one of the most powerful and FREE Country is the world. Just imagine how much more powerful our country would be if the people would have always been united. This shows in our government. Weather you voted for our current leaders of our Nation, you have to be proud of them for them putting their difference aside and working together to protect our Land. I know I am.

Please think about my words... Think how powerful you can be when your friends and family are standing next to you. Remember everyone who lives in this country are your Brothers, Sisters, Friends and Protectors of your land. So start treating them as such, no matter what their color or religion is. AND THIS MUST INCLUDE THE PALESTINIAN AMERICANS. Remember our country is made up of people who came from all over world. Why? Because They wanted freedom. Just as you and I do. I have German descent, and we know from World War 2 there were some bad Germans. Well my German descent came from my late father. My father was a vet of War War 2 who received a purple heart. He might have had German descent, but he was an American just as you, I and the Palestinian Americans. If you see someone treating them differently, be a true American and do something about it.
